The Stuttering and Stumbling President of the United States

Here is the thought of the day. We all have seen Barry Obama stutter and be inarticulate as all get out. He is wonderful in set speeches able to rouse a crowd to new heights of ecstasy's. However when he has to think on his feet in real time he tends to stutter and stumbles about sometimes even becoming completely inarticulate. Now that President Obama is in the Oval Office and is dealing with REAL TIME politics we are seeing the same thing manifest itself. The stumbling around trying to figure out what to do. The question remains is he learning on the job or is this a character flaw, from which he can not really recover.

The answer to the question is that so long as President Obama is dealing with something that is familiar he will do OK. Once you get him out of the pocket of the familiar he stumbles about. That is his Achilles Heel.

Geitners statements either are another stumble in that the Obama administration misread the the sentiment of not being able to offer meat on the bones of their proposal. Or the fact that they have not fleshed out a plan of action is a reflection that the administration is still stumbling about to find a course of action.

President Obama does not do well in REAL time. He puts time and distance between himself and action so that he has a chance to evaluate a situation and come up with an appropriate response. However if real time events don't give him time to be sure of his course of action he then stumbles about looking for an answer which can make him appear to be indecisive or ineffective.

The following are postulates whose efficacy should be watched for in the future.

1 President Obama wants to be cool, calm and collected to be in control of the situation. Thus he MAY not understand that control is only an illusion, and that in real life events have a life of their own, and one can not control ANYTHING. If this is the case then this can only add to President Obamas indecisiveness or ineffectiveness

2. The more that President Obama's persona is an AFFECTATION of wanting to be cool, calm and collected the more rigid and thus brittle his personality will be. If he is VERY brittle, then we can expect a meltdown into not being able to make any kind of decision. . It was only after Bhutto assassination at the end of 2007 that GW had the look of a man who had had enough.
