It is an easy shot to say BO is a "socialist" It is an easy shot to say he is incompetent or an empty suit. For that is to dismiss the man behind the mask, to let him off easy.

BO is a flawed personality. To put it very simply he does not integrate his emotion with his intellect. Due to his emotionally unstable upbringing he tends to separate his intellect from his emotions. BO tends to stay in his intellect, as is reflected by his demeanor of being Cool, Calm and Collected. This intellectualization process is then transferred to the way that he believes government should be run which is from the head or centralized position which can provide the necessary direction and planning for the whole to work efficiently. This is what has seemed to work so well for him. However due to this separation or intellectualizing process he can not act well in real time or put another way in a crisis situation. He does not have the emotional grounding to think on his feet or the fly. This is evidenced by his continued need for the aid of a teleprompter as his emotions rise he tends to go blank and stumble about as he struggles to regain his intellectual composure. When one has to think on his feet, emotions come into play in the decision making process, as one has to deal with their emotions or in a crisis situation the emotion of fear.

BO has sung the sirens song which has beguiled the more Liberal members of society into thinking that he is a man of all seasons. This illusion was broken forever by his response to the crisis in the gulf. He dithered and fumbled away precious time for all to see. This has created a crisis of confidence in his leadership ability.
